Needless to say, they are gutted, especially as so far they had been up amongst the leaders and doing really well, but as they are unable to charge batteries or start the engine, it is unsafe to cross the Irish Sea without the back-up of being able to use the engine should they need to.
They hope to be in Plymouth late this afternoon.

This is truly sad news and I could not believe what I was reading. But I it best to be on the safe side knowing what the Irish seas can dish out - nevermind, you still have the Clipper campaign which should be exciting. I think a glass or two of A'bunadh should soften the blow. Bad luck, Richard and am thinking of you and the disappointment. Lots of love G:)
